The objective is not simply to pass through as many countries as possible. The value of the expedition is found in the distance between destinations.
Walking changes the scale of travel. A village that would disappear through a car window becomes a place to stop. A mountain becomes several days of movement. Weather becomes a real decision rather than something observed through glass.
HAVIKWAY documents those realities: preparation, physical movement, route changes, border crossings, equipment failures, local encounters, difficult days and unexpected places.
The final route therefore remains intentionally flexible. Geography provides the direction, but conditions on the ground determine the path.
